We offer NGP visitors a wide array of educational programmes taking various forms: guided tours, lectures and discussions, seminars, courses, instructional programmes with a thoroughly developed methodology, creative workshops, and performances. In the gallery, we create an open space for the meeting and intertwining of artworks, curators, artists, specialists from various social fields, and the general public.
We allow the active participation of the audience, while considering the needs of various visitor groups and inspiring creation. Our programmes provide refinement, education, experience, spiritual and aesthetic enrichment, and new art perspectives, fostering respect for difference, broadening horizons, and helping you spend free time meaningfully. The programmes have been prepared by a specialist team put together over a long time – teachers, art historians, visual artists, drama teachers, and experts from other relevant fields. It is a crucial aspect of our educational activities to mediate art to school groups and teachers, for whom we’ve prepared a special selection of programmes. Educational activities have been a feature of the National Gallery Prague since as early as the 1960s. The forms and methodologies of the educational programmes have undergone various transformations over the decades, expanding into new formats.
