Alena Štěrbová has worked at the National Gallery Prague since 2017, first in the Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art and, since 2019, in the Audience Development (previously Public Programming Department). She prepares educational programmes and special events for adult audiences presenting art from different positions. She is the author behind the dramaturgies of satellite events for NGP’s permanent collections as well as temporary exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. She cooperates with many people and organizations seeking to interconnect various fields, contents, and artistic and interpretational strategies.
She studied aesthetics at the Faculty of Arts of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, and modern and contemporary art history and theory at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague. Her research stays and scholarships abroad include Università degli Studi della Tuscia, Fondazione Giorgio Cini, and others.
