A graduate in Art History from the Faculty of Arts of
Charles University, Marina Hořínková completed a doctoral programme of study in
2009. While studying, she focused especially on the comparative iconography of
the Christian East and West; currently, she concentrates on popularising
science. Dr Hořínková has worked in the National Gallery Prague since 2004,
mediating Medieval art to the general public – especially to school children
and pre-schoolers. She cooperated on educational programmes for several
exhibitions: Emperor Charles IV 1316–2016, Without Borders. Art in the Ore
Mountains Between the Gothic and Renaissance, Beautiful Madonnas, What the Eyes
Cannot See, For the Eyes to Admire etc. Dr Hořínková has authored several NGP
for children book publications – Emperor Charles IV’s Treasures, Have a Look
and many worksheets.
