Radka Šefců has worked in the National Gallery Prague since 1998, serving as Head of the Chemical-Technological Laboratory since 2016. She specialises in identifying art materials and the complex knowledge of historical painting techniques. Her activities include developing and implementing new instrumental techniques to carry out non-invasive and non-destructive artwork analysis. Radka Šefců has offered her professional expertise to the surveys of works by the Masters of the Třeboň and Litoměřice Altarpiece, Jakub Schikaneder, and the French Impressionists. She is an investigator of scientific grant projects in the programmes of the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. In her professional capacity, Radka Šefců cooperates with other state institutions and specialised scientific workplaces. She has published dozens of impact-factor and peer-reviewed articles, collaborating on several monographs and catalogues. She is a member of the ICOM-CC, ČMS, and the Commission of Conservator-Restorers of the Czech Association of Museums and Galleries.
