After graduating in Archival Studies, Tomáš Hylmar started working in the Archive of the National Gallery Prague in 2005, where he focuses on the processing of personal archival funds of Czech sculptors and the National Gallery Prague fund (1945–1990). This is also reflected in his publishing activities – for example, the diaries of sculptor Ladislav Zívr (1925–1944) for the “Art in the Archive” series. Hylmar’s shorter studies introduce important archival documents relating to the post-war history of the Czech fine arts. He also contributes to entries on art exhibitions in Bohemia from 1820 to 1950.
