Institutional support for the Long-Term Conceptual Development of a Research Organisation (IP DKRVO) is provided by the Ministry of Culture to the National Gallery Prague as a research institution, based on the evaluation of results achieved. The evaluation is carried out yearly by the Minister of Culture’s Council for Research (RMKPV). DKRVO institutional support is one-year, and the research organisation is not entitled to it – the Ministry as the provider is under no obligation to provide it to the organisation.
The funds provided by the Ministry for DKRVO institutional support are redistributed by the NGP to research area (VO) investigation so that the bulk of the funding goes to the investigators and other professionals. The VOs and research targets funded through DKRVO institutional support are planned for five years, as per the research area evaluation methodology of the Ministry of Culture for 2019–23.
DKRVO institutional support is administered by the Department of Science and Research of the NGP. The project aims to support the NGP’s scientific and research activities, revitalise exhibitions, promote systematic examination and documentation of NGP collections, and realise publications and presentations. Comprising support throughout the NGP collections, the project is separated into 8 research areas:
