The art of ikebana is rooted in the ancient respect and admiration that
the Japanese have for nature. It involves creating thoughtfully designed floral
installations using scissors and other tools, seasonal flowers, and
appropriately chosen vases. These arrangements evoke the image of natural
scenery and also serve as a medium for expressing the creator's perception of
nature, as well as their spiritual and aesthetic values.
