The discussion will be focused on gender equality in the policy of cultural institutions in the Czech Republic, Germany, and France. The debate will be based on the experience with the Feminist (Art) Institution Code, created by the network of Czech and Slovak cultural organisations in 2017 and on the new Charter of Commitments for the Cultural and Creative Industry signed by a number of French and foreign fellow organisations.
The aim of the debate will be an international exchange, sharing of experience, examples of practice and perspectives on the specific backgrounds of the positions of independent, state and government organisations and platforms. Among the topics discussed will be the most critical and pressing issues related to gender equality. What problems do we encounter in national art institutions if we want to practice gender equality? How do these issues replay in acquisitions, collections exhibition strategies and gallery education? What are the most difficult issues to overcome, and what can be learned by sharing such institutional practices internationally?
