The drawings of Antonín Slavíček (1870–1910) are a less-known facet of his oeuvre that largely consists of paintings in the Impressionist style. His drawings represent “impressions of fleeting moments” that he captured during his strolls around the countryside. In sketches for paintings as well as in spontaneous recordings from Prague, but also from the Bohemian Highlands and Dalmatia he engaged in ever more expressive rendering of natural scenery.
