A teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Markéta Pavlíková completed her master’s programme in Restoration of Painted Artworks and Polychrome Sculptures at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Studio of Professor Karel Stretti. In the National Gallery Prague, she focuses on the artworks in the Collection of Old Masters, focusing on the restoration of polychrome sculptures, paintings on various surfaces, conservation surveys, collection fund artwork care, and participating in exhibition preparation.
Dr Pavlíková has restored works by K. Škréta, P. Brandl, U. Creutz, M. Braun, F. I. Platzer, Master of the Litoměřice Altarpiece, and A. Vivarini. She has published expert articles in several periodicals, for example in the Bulletin of the NGP, Technologia Artis, the Mýtus Creutz catalogue, and the Zprávy památkové péče (“Monument Care Report”) magazine.
