Currently working as curator of prints and drawings from the 2nd half of the 20th century until today.
A graduate from the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, Adriana Šmejkalová completed her Art History studies with the dissertation titled The Mirror of Reality in the Imagery of Dreams of the 19th and 20th Centuries. Creative Individuality versus the Chaos of the Time. She is interested in oneiric image depictions in European art from Antiquity to modern artworks, which offer the opportunity to understand the human soul and culture itself. Dr Šmejkalová occupies herself with visual art theory, psychology, and philosophy, specialising in post-war art, especially works from the 1960s and 70s.
