We are very pleased that as part of the program of the state visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Prague, there was also a tour of the National Gallery Prague (NGP). He was welcomed at Veletržní Palace by NGP General Director Alicja Knast, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Culture Ondřej Chrást.
President Macron spent almost an hour and a half in the Prague National Gallery and viewed part of the collection exhibits 1796-1918: Art of the Long Century and 1918-1938: The First Czechoslovak Republic, where he stopped by the works of painters Henri Rousseau, Paul Gauguin, Pablo Picasso, František Kupka or Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. As part of the tour, he was also presented with the famous French collection that Czechoslovakia purchased shortly after its foundation in the 1920s and 1930s.
