Pavel Brázda

Date: 30.06.2006 - 07.01.2007

1st floor

Pavel Brázda (born 1926) is an artist who was barred from the official Czech culture of the second half of the 20th century for his opposition to the Communist regime. His work, however, could find its way from late surrealism to manifestations reflecting the everyday culture of modern civilization, side by side with the movement of pop art. The exhibition shows that the world of simple forms in Brázda’s paintings and their general technology-inspired style are one of the major contributions of Czech art in the second half of the 20th century.
